◤ STATUS: ACTIVE SOLAR EVENT ◢ ↳ CME IMPACT: CONFIRMED ↳ STORM LEVEL: G1 (MINOR) — G2 POSSIBLE ↳ NODE: CIRAS SOLAR OBSERVATION ARRAY
Event Summary:
CME from Aug 5 has arrived, coupling with a coronal hole high-speed stream.
Geomagnetic storming persisted ~24h with Kp=5 at last check.
M1.0 flare on Aug 8 caused R1 radio blackout over the Pacific.
Observations:
- AR4168 produced 11 flares (1 × M-class, 10 × C-class)
- 3 new sunspot regions detected (AR4175–4177)
- Solar wind peaked at 554 km/s
- IMF/Bz held southward — prolonged geomagnetic stress
Forecast:
Aug 9 → G1 storming continues, G2 possible.
Aug 10–11 → Activity easing, residual effects possible.
Flare probability: M=60%, X=10%.
